MABEL LAW · WORKING TOGETHER
Clear instructions.
A reliable process.
Objectives, responsibilities and decisions belong at the start of good collaboration. Find out how we structure an engagement together.
BEFORE INSTRUCTING US
Instructions
aligned with your objective.
Reviewing a contract, drafting an agreement, enforcing a debt and defending a claim are different tasks. Together, we define what is to be reviewed or undertaken and what result you need.
Before accepting instructions, we check the parties involved, possible conflicts of interest and timing requirements, among other things. We then agree the scope and basis of fees. You receive a power of attorney and other engagement documents appropriate to the instructions.
- What is included, and what needs additional instructions?
- Which documents and information do we need?
- Which deadlines, appointments and decision-making processes must be considered?
- How do we bill, and what other costs may arise?
WHILE WORKING TOGETHER
Informed decisions.
Coordinated action.
Reviewing the facts and law
We examine the agreed documents, clarify open questions and consider the available evidence. Please also disclose facts that may weaken your position.
Discussing options and consequences
You receive a clear assessment of options and risks. Negotiation, settlement or court action is evaluated against your objective and the financial consequences.
Agreeing steps and changes
We agree significant decisions with you. If new claims, parties or procedural stages arise, we clarify the additional instructions and costs. Please forward new correspondence and deadlines promptly.
WHO IS REPRESENTED?
Assigning responsibility
clearly.
Personal matters
We represent the person instructing us in their specific matter. Relatives or other parties are not automatically represented as well. We share information with accompanying people only within the lawful, agreed scope.
Companies and institutions
We clarify the precise legal entity, authority to act and contacts authorised to make decisions. A company's engagement does not automatically cover the personal interests of its shareholders, management or employees.
Engagements for representative bodies
For engagements by representative bodies, we examine competence, required resolutions and the basis for payment of costs. Works councils, staff councils and collective bargaining parties have different legal positions; individual employee engagements remain separate.
Other professionals
Existing advisers and additional professionals can be involved by agreement. Tasks, responsibility, permissible information exchange and additional fees are clarified separately.
AT THE CONCLUSION
Securing results.
Identifying open points.
At the end of the engagement, we discuss the outcome and any further steps. A judgment, agreement or completed draft may require additional implementation.
Appeals, enforcement, follow-on projects or ongoing advice are not automatically included in every engagement. We clarify what remains to be done, who will undertake it and which deadlines apply. When changing lawyers, the handover, deadlines and possible additional costs must be agreed in good time.
THE NEXT STEP
Let us start with
your matter.
A project, a decision or a dispute: briefly tell us what it concerns. We will clarify the next steps with you.
